A trial that doesn't waste your time

Most trials run a clock from the moment you download the app. But travel planning isn't continuous — you might book a trip, not open Honk for three weeks, then plan the next leg in a rush.

35 days
Basic access, always running
3 active trips, core 4 booking types, iCloud sync, maps and timeline. Runs from the day you download.
10 credits
Full feature access, on-demand
Each credit gives 24 hours of Full access. A credit only activates when you actually use a Full feature — not on a schedule.

Credits don't expire during the trial period. If you're not planning a trip, they sit unused. When you need Full features — to assign hotel rooms, export your data as JSON, or view global route lines — you activate a credit and get a full day.

45–90 days · max 1 per year · requires a prior subscription within 12 months

Travelling for an extended period and don't want a recurring subscription? The Trip Pass gives you Full access for the duration of your trip at a flat price. Not a subscription — a one-time purchase per trip.

Safety features are never paywalled. Emergency numbers by country, nearest hospitals, currency converter, and timezone tools are available on every plan — including no plan at all.

Common questions

What happens when the trial ends?
When the 35-day Basic trial period ends, the app moves to an expired state. Your data is safe — all your trips, bookings, and notes are preserved. You can still view everything. Creating new bookings or editing existing ones requires a subscription. Historic trips remain readable indefinitely.
What happens to Full credits I haven't used?
Credits don't expire during the trial period. If you have credits left when the 35-day Basic period ends, they can still be activated — but you'll need to use them before they go stale. Credits don't roll over into a paid subscription.
Can I use Honk on my Mac?
Yes. Honk includes Mac Catalyst support, which means the same app runs on macOS via the Mac App Store. Your data syncs between iPhone and Mac through iCloud. The Mac version is included in every plan at no extra cost.
Is my data safe if I cancel?
Yes. Your data lives on your device and in your personal iCloud — not on Honk's servers (Honk has no servers). Cancelling a subscription doesn't touch your data. You keep everything. You just lose the ability to add or edit bookings until you resubscribe.
What email formats does import support?
Honk's parser handles plain text, HTML, and quoted-printable encoded email formats. It recognises most major airlines (728 in the dictionary), hotel chains, and booking platforms. There are formats it doesn't know yet — the completeness score tells you how confident the parse was.
What file types can I import?
PDF files are read using PDFKit. Images (JPEG, PNG, HEIC) are processed using Vision OCR. For anything else — web pages, emails forwarded as attachments — use the Share Extension from the app where the content lives, or copy the text and paste it in.
Does Honk read my emails automatically?
No. Honk has no access to your inbox. Import is always a manual action — you share an email to Honk, import a file, use the camera, or paste text. Nothing is scanned in the background. Honk doesn't even have the permissions to do so.
Can I export my data?
JSON export and import is a Full plan feature. It lets you back up your trips or move data between devices without relying on iCloud sync. Basic plan users can rely on iCloud sync but don't get manual export.
Does Honk support family sharing?
Not yet. Collaborative trip sharing, family groups, and shared editing are planned for a future Premium tier. Today, Honk is a single-user app — your trips sync between your own devices via your personal iCloud account.
What iOS version do I need?
iOS 17.6 or later. Honk uses SwiftData and CloudKit features that require this minimum version. It runs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac (via Mac Catalyst).
